New Beginnings:
We hope to someday restore this Civic Auditorium to its original beautiful design. The 6,000 square foot Ballroom with a "floating" wood floor and the elegant Fireside Room have been renovated and are again begin used by the community. The 1,000 seat Theater, the Gymnasium, the locker rooms and dressing rooms await funds. The Civic will be again the fine art, cultural, social and athletic center of our downtown City Center.
Grants, private donations, and an Urban Renewal award of $490,000 enabled us to install heating, cooling, wiring, an elevator and six new restrooms. The Theatre, dressing rooms and catering kitchen now await generous grants to restore our Civic to its former glory as the heart of The Dalles.
We welcome private donations, endowments, club sponsors, corporate donors, and grants from foundations and public agencies. Contact us for any details.
